Halloween

It's no secret that this is my least favorite holiday ever.

I enjoy the fall-ish activities, like the pumpkin patch, and the carving (not really the carving actually).

And I pretty much hate the candy part....

But I do like the parties at the school, and the preschool. Those are usually pretty fun to be a part of!

I did feel like it was not super stressful of a day though. I let the kids go and pick any costume they wanted off the goodwill rack as long as it wasn't super gross and scary, or scandalous.  They had fun picking them out. Cannon couldn't find anything he wanted, so I had to make his, but it actually turned out to be a really fun project.

I didn't get any really good pics of the kids dressed up this year.

I also didn't get to enjoy my hot chocolate and baileys like last year, but life goes on right?

But I did get this compliment from Cannon: "Mom. You were cool, but now you are on awesome level 9!" {I think he liked the working bow and arrow set I made?}

Life in Sebastopol

With the new school, there is a new town to explore.
New toy stores to check out.
New libraries to enjoy.
New outdoor spaces to enjoy our evenings in.
New markets to discover with new salads to try....

{Making the best of changes!}

School Fun

I'm learning that the kids have a lot of extra things built into their school year at PHCS.

Like student led chapel.

And trips to the apple farm to get fresh squeezed and bottled juice.

And oral reports complete with extra points for dressing up.

 And Nacho Fridays.

 And Jog-a-thons.

{too bad no one sponsored this guy....}
And singing for a group of older peeps at Mt Gilead.

And Special Persons Day.

And making pumpkin pies with friends.
 And playing bingo with the elderly at a local in home care facility.
 All so much fun!

Teeth

Don't be jealous of my "to do" list today:
1. Take Rich to oral surgeon to get 3 wisdom teeth pulled.
2. Drug him up and put him to bed.
3. Take the other 4 to dentist for cleanings and exams.
4. Survive.

Home School Preschool

I am trying to spend a little extra time with Nolan working on learning some kinda very important stuff to get ready for kindegarten.  He still has another year before he goes, but I thought that since he is showing interest in numbers, letters, etc, that he might enjoy it.
So far it's been fun, and challenging, and humbling all in one.
I have much respect for the homeschool mama's out there.
Much, much respect.
We've conquered A, E, I, O, and U.
