When you send them outside to move brush from one pile to the other, and you see them sword fighting with the sticks...you know that they must be boys!

Waterpark Adventures

This year, instead of the fair, we decided to go to the Waterworld.  It was so much fun.  The kids could do almost all the water slides, and although I was the biggest wimp on some of the slides, they all enjoyed every second of it.
My kids said that I screamed really loud on the slides.
Apparently I did....

You know its been a great day when the drive home looks like this!

Summer Shananigans

Outdoor movie night with our peeps....maybe not our best choice choosing Pan for the movie...a little scary for the littles.


Time in the day to spend crafting!



Sometimes the perfect dinner is just homemade french fries.

.....and then there was that time that we were all sitting outside chatting and a rat ran across the fence tops.  "Let's pretend that was a squirrel..." a friend said.  Gotta love my urban oasis.

We enjoyed a nice dinner with the whole family at Mary's Pizza for Papa's birthday.  Enjoyed a fun time...

Quick Trip to the Lake

The kids and I got up to the lake for a quick weekend away.  It was wonderful, as usual, and I'm always grateful for a place to go that is comfortable, and relaxing and where the kids can play and swim and enjoy the lake.

My favorite thing is that when I got back, there was this sweet note waiting for me. 

Hesitantly Homeschooling

I'm starting to get ready, very slowly, for homeschooling Brynn.
It'll be a new adventure, obviously, and I've been praying a lot for grace and the ability to confidently do this. 
In the meantime, I'm sitting down and starting to calender, and having Brynn try out a few practice sessions of school to work out some kinks.

I needed to figure out some storage solutions, and found this idea....and it was free...and so the shelves are now used to the best of their capacity!
