AAUUGGHH

OK, so I know that kids say things that we wish they didn't, but come on....
Brynn is a prime example. Take yesterday for example. We were just finishing up our grocery shopping at Food Max. (If you don't know Food Max, its always an adventure. You get to to bag your own groceries, so the checkout line can be a little bit long...)
An older lady comes into line behind us, and Brynn immediately cries out "Mommy, look at her eyes! What is wrong with her eyes?" Now keep in mind, I am usually ready for anything. When she points out people in wheelchairs, I am ready with some sort of comment. When she pointed out a guy with only one leg, I managed to spit out - "God decided to make him a little bit different than He made you..." etc. But between putting my groceries on the conveyor belt, paying the bill, keeping Cannon from jumping out of the cart, and bagging my own food, I had nothing to say this time. Instead I turned quickly, found some random pack of batteries at the check stand, and stammered to Brynn that maybe we should buy batteries. How lame. I am sure that it could have been a lot worse, but still.
We recently went to the library to hear a man named Tim Cain do some children's music. He played a song that Brynn absolutely loved, so I went ahead and bought a CD with that song on it. It talks about a kid and the kids' dog, how much the kid loves the dog, etc. The chorus of the song goes like this. "And she hopped up, hopped up, hopped up on my bed. She hopped up, hopped up, hopped up on my bed." Brynn loves to sing this part, but has changed the words "slightly". This is what she belts out (aka - in public) anywhere she chooses.
"And she got knocked up, knocked up, knocked up on my bed. Knocked up, knocked up, knocked up on my bed..."

Funny Faces

These are some of the faces that we see everyday. He has got some pretty good ones, but I never seem quick enough to catch them on camera.

You can see the teeth that we fondly call "chicklets" peeking out. (He's got 7)

I don't really know what is going on here, but it makes me laugh.

Birthday Boy

Cannon turned one on May 5th and we had a blast!

A family pic from the party. Why do both the kids have to be pulling on my dress?????

He is enjoying his birthday cupcake. Of course it was slightly healthy (banana batter with cream cheese frosting) and I overheard some of the other kids complain that they didn't like the taste of them....oh well.

Cannon and daddy celebrating "cinco de mayo" style...

Gigi and Poppa John were kind enough to host at their place, and everyone really enjoyed themselves.

I can't believe that he is ONE!!!
