That Darn Dog...

Having a pet is draining....on my time, mental ability and bank account.

Every year, without fail, our faithful furry companion gets an ear infection. Has to do with the weather..... supposedly.

This year, it came on quietly but strong! I woke up at 1am one morning to him pacing and whining and shaking his head like crazy. Went to the garage to pull out my ever ready supply of antibiotics for his ear, and was about to give him some drops. Through my bleary, sleep state, I noticed that his ear was oozing and bleeding, so I woke up Rich to let him know that we were headed to the emergency vet. Rich offered to take him (took the hint that I didn't REALLY want to go) and came home three hours later, and $250 dollars poorer.

He also came home with 3 different medications that I was to give the dog at different times throughout the day, for 9 days....

So, here is my life:
Pop a prenatal, try not to throw it up.
Convince (aka bribe) Maeve to allow me to rub creme on eczema toes morning and night.
Dry heave, some more.
Force an oral antibiotic down dogs' throat, 2 times a day.
Hide a prednisone pill in dogs food and hope that he doesn't go crazy and kill us all in our sleep, 2 times a day.
Dry heave, lay down and rest.
Pin the dog down and drop 3 drops of antibiotic ear drops in LEFT ear, 3 times a day.
Dry heave, dry heave, take a nap.

Keep it straight Ang, keep it straight....

This is what I am scared of....

...the basket on the top shelf of the closet where, for the past 2 years, I have been tossing papers, keepsakes, pictures, jotted down milestones (on post-its, by the way), and crafts that are intended for my kids baby books....

What was I thinking?

Help!!!!

Doc Appt #1

I had my first doc appointment so its official....I am pregnant!

As pregnant as I feel, as nauseous, and tired, and sore, and grumpy, and emotional, etc, etc, etc, its always a sweet relief to see a beating heart, and a real tangible reason for all these symptoms. My official due date is November 5th, but assuming this child will stay as long as the others, I am aiming for a later date...like the 15th or so....

Here is our little one's first appearance on camera!

Baby has a profile already, and the tech pointed out the large feet, and made a comment about a huge big toe....Uhm...Is our baby a freak? We shall see....

I showed each of the kids the picture. Brynn asked if it was really that small...(we are about the size of a fig at this point, so yep, its that small....), Cannon asked if it was a boy or girl, and Maeve just ran away and hid. (She is catching on that she will no longer be the "baby".)

As for me, I am still nauseous, having good days and bad. "Theoretically" my hormones will shift soon and things will level out...I am not holding my breath on this one. I have no appetite for anything sweet, and instead pile on salt on anything I can get my hands on... I have a cold that has lasted 3 weeks, and now may be morphing into allergies???? Fun. Fun.
My pants no longer fit, and since I can't wear pj's ALL the time, I had to pull out the well-used bin of maternity clothes. *Sigh*

I can't wait for this part to be over!

Easter

Easter was cold and wet, but the great news is that we were in our church building for the FIRST TIME!!!!
It was 5 years in the making, since the church purchased the property, secured the permits, funded and restructured the buildings, met the county requirements, and finally got approval to occupy the space, but it was well worth it!
I have no pictures of the building (sorry), but I managed to get a few of my freezing, unhappy kids, and one family shot that pretty much sums up the morning....

Maeve and the bunny....I don't know if its fear, or a frozen face that is keeping her expression like this.

The girls had matching dresses, courtesy of my mom, and this is the only picture of them that looks like they might possibly be enjoying themselves.

Brynn wouldn't smile, Cannon wouldn't stop smiling, and don't you love the rain boots that Maeve chose for herself that day???

Ok, I know I am being super critical, but this is the best of the worst of Easter pictures for us. Ah...the memories!

Hidden Messages

Brynn wrote me a message on this doodle board.

I will translate for you:

"You are is sweet is a cupcake. For Mom."

***Use your imagination...she is only in Kindergarten...and she ran out of room and couldn't fit all of "cupcake"...***

Haircut

Cannon's hair was OUT OF CONTROL!!!!
We finally chopped it off a couple of weeks ago, and in my bleary state of pregnancy I finally found the pics and am now sharing them....

I think I cut off about 4 inches of curls? Lets just say, that it is a crying shame that the only boy in our family got the beautiful curly hair, and my girls are stuck with stick-straight, thin, scraggly hair.

I am also pretty sure that Cannon's last hair cut was over a year ago.....sad huh.

What is the fun of a haircut if you can't shave a mullet first????

Sweet 'do!!!
Afterwards....handsome as usual, just a bit more groomed. I will miss that hair!!!

Easter Peep Sushi

This is one of the best ideas that I have ever seen for Peeps. You know, peeps...those Easter marshmallow treats that are best stale? (Is that just me? I love to open a package, let it sit for a week or two, and then bite into a crunchy coated marshmallow piece of heaven....yummy!)

Sushi Anyone?

This delicious bit of fun is made with Rice Crispy Treats, Fruit Roll-ups and Peeps! What a fun thing to bring to an Easter brunch right? (I don't think my family will appreciate it, but you go right ahead....)
(Courtesy of DIY)

And just out of curiosity, I googled "Fun things to do with Peeps". Cautionary note: You might want to have "safe" search preference on...There are probably some pretty weird things out there....

But, these are some "laugh out loud" images that I found! (And, there are many, many more of these...by the way!)

How about a diorama with Peeps? (So much fun for a class project! The possibilities are endless!)

Or, if you can't afford the latest fashion trend...make your own???

Ok, so now that you are armed with all things wonderful to do with peeps, have an amazing, blessed Easter, and enjoy time with your family!
