Star Spangled Celebration!

Its Fair time again, which mean Fun time!!!! (At least for me and the kids. Not so much the hubby...) This was the year of rides! Brynn loved them, and Cannon showed no expression on any of them. He either hides his fear and excitement well, or really was bored out of his mind.

The flower show was nice, and the kids enjoyed throwing pennies into the water and making wishes. Here is our annual family picture in front of some of the flower displays.

And, like every year since we got married, we shoved ourselves into a stinky photo booth for a black and white picture. It is getting crowded and I have no idea how we are going to keep putting the whole family in year after year... There are actually five of us in there, but Maeve's poor little face disappeared under her striped hat. It was funny that Brynn actually made a silly face with us this year. She is growing up so fast!

So here is the picture of our friends who go with us every year. This time (I can't bear the excitement) you can see the baby bump. Next year their little one will be joining us at the fair. He/she will be 9 months old at that point. I can't wait!!!!

I love going to the fair every year, and this year, was definitely the most expensive. Its sometimes difficult to part with the hard earned money, but soooooooo worth it for the memories.

(Cue the sappy music)
Parking: $5
Admission: $10
Food: $15
Rides: $20
Photo Booth: $5

Memories: Priceless

Singing Lullabies

Brynn loves to hold Maeve. Every morning, after I am done feeding her, I hand her off to my live in baby holder. She holds her, rocks her, talks to her and sings to her. This is yesterdays cuddle session....

The Galloping Boy

This is what we constantly hear and see in our house. Too funny!

Once A Month Cooking

So I got together with two friends and spent a day cooking meals that can be frozen and reheated. I have been wanting to try this method of food prep for a few years, but have been too scared to really commit to a day of cooking. Glad to say that it was a LONG day, full of hard work and lots of laughter, and my freezer now has 16 meals that I can just pop in the oven, or put on the grill and eat. I was super tired, but I am hoping that it will all be worth it! This months food (and grocery bill) will determine if I do it again.

Dinner Time!!!

Brynn helped (actually did all the work) with dinner the other night. I had to fight all my urges to make it perfect, but she did an amazing job! She was so proud of her work, and loved to eat her product. Now if only I could get Cannon to make the salad, I would be set for dinner at nights!

It's a Man Bag...

Here is Cannon's Man Bag....

Here is what he carries inside....

Don't worry daddy...

2 months old!

I am sitting here typing with a two month old on my lap. She is able to hold her head up all the time (except when she is sleeping or really tired...). She smiles at anyone and everyone after they give her some attention. She has even started to coo, and I forgot how much that melts my heart. She is letting me sleep about 5 hours at a time, and I can't wait for more! The kids love her, and she is always looking around for them. She still won't take a pacifier, so we have mostly given up on that dream. She would rather suck her fist, and I guess that will have to do.

Nuggy takes a bath

Cannon has a precious snuggly that was given to him when he was born. It is a cow, and has silk paws that he rubs when he falls asleep. He has slept with his "nuggy" every night since he was born, and it is showing quite a bit wear and tear. The paw pads are just hanging on by a thread, and are no longer silky, but look more like an old piece of fabric. It is dingy and worn, but still an absolute necessity for bed each night. This being said, I always have to wash it early in the day, in order for it to be ready for quiet time.
Saturday, Cannon disappeared for a bit after I started the laundry, and Rich found him in the garage staring at the washing machine. Apparently he was really enjoying watching his beloved nuggy tumbling around in the water. I caught a bit on film....(unfortunately, I can't rotate it, so if you have neck issues, be prepared...)

Happy 4th of July

Due to Rich's on call shift on the 4th, we celebrated the 4th a day early at Analy High School. We packed up a picnic dinner, met my family, and shared an evening together.

We shared our evening with about a million other people. I can't believe how many people were there. The entire football field was so full with blankets, chairs and people that you couldn't walk on it. The stands were full, and the all weather track had almost filled itself up as well. It was amazing.

I had Cannon on my lap when the fireworks started. His whole body shook with every "boom" of the fireworks, and he could only handle a few before he asked for his kitty cat blanket and hid his face. He was actually trembling! It was pretty sad, but the blanket, and my hugs helped him get through the show. He actually never watched any of the fireworks display, but at least he sat through it and didn't cry.

Brynn loved it all, and insisted that there would be more if we just sat long enough and waited. I told her that next year we would see them again, and that seemed to satisfy her.

Maeve slept through the entire thing like a pro. Rich almost slept through it, except that I sent Brynn over to jump on him as the show was about to start...

It was a great night, and I hope next year to do it again.

Brynn Turns 4 !

Brynn chose her own theme this year for the birthday party. She wanted Flowers and Tinkerbell, so we made it work!

It was a perfect day. Cool morning, and not too hot for lunch. She had all her friends come over, and they celebrated by making beaded bracelets, eating a hot dog lunch, decorating their own cupcakes, a pull string pinata, and gifts.

Each little one was sent home with a flower pinwheel.

Both of the kids had a great time, and Brynn was loving all the attention and time with her friends. She even got her first two wheeler big girl bike! She had it totally mastered by evening time!

After a great party, and a great morning, both kids were wiped out, and fell right asleep!

Birthday Bash

Brynn turned 4 today. I can't believe that its been 4 years since she was born. I bet I will say this every year on one of the kids' birthdays.
She had an awesome party, if I do say so myself. It was a Tinkerbell/Flower party, and it was fun. We had a craft that the kids got to do (making bracelets), a yummy and nutritious BBQ hotdog lunch, Decorate-your-own-cupcake time, and a pull string pinata. She was given tons of great little gifts, and even got her first bike! Following yearly tradition, we even ended the party in tears. (Its not a birthday party until somebody cries!)
Cannon partied hard too, and ended up crashing out before everyone had left. Maeve even dressed up and stayed awake for some of the party. We love birthdays here, and I was happy to celebrate it with my big little girl!
