Musings

I've got a thing for handwritten notes.  So when I find ones from the kids, or the hubby, I love to take a pic and document.
Then I throw them away.
Because as much as I love a note....I hate clutter.

Screensaver

Only a cool dad with a great sense of humor would have this as his phone screen saver.

Yep.  He's pretty cool....

Maeve turns 6

"Birdie" turned 6.
She's a little sweetheart who is, by far, the most sensitive child in our small pack.
She brings us such joy, and we are blessed to be hers!

Full of giggles at the breakfast table, and full of excitment about her party later in the day!

Maeve choose to have a Lego friends birthday cause, you know, we're all about Lego over here.
She had 2 little friends come over, and they played, and created some jewelry, colored, and played.

I even got to have some fun with the jewelry!!

And this is how I celebrated another successful party....

Happy Birthday to a girl whose missing tooth smile lights up a room. A girl whose giggle makes everyone smile, and a girl who I can't imagine my life without.  Happy Birthday to our little orphan Maeve!

Mother's Day

My Mother's Day loot....

...from Brynn.
...from the hubs.
...from Maeve.
...from Cannon.  {a wee bit convicting}
....from the hubby, or Nolan?
...from them all.
Rich and brynn sneaked in a little nap.

And then just because he loves me....the little one gave me this...

I love my zoo crew.

Moms & Muffins

Elissa and I opted for an easier option this year for the end of the year mom thing at school.
Instead of moms and muffins, we went for the "da moms & donuts" vibe.

Destroying stuff...

...is exhausting.
Obviously.

8 is Great!

 Cannon turned 8.
And {surprise} wanted another Lego party.
I REALLY should start just saving decorations so I don't have to keep remaking them.
Seriously.

Plan A: We tried to do "the Lego movie" theme. We were going to show the movie, have popcorn, let the little boys play.
Well...all the plans fell thru when we found out the Lego movie wasn't due out for 6 more weeks.
There was wailing. And crying.  And that was just from me.  You should've heard Cannon!
Tragic.

So Plan B.

Take the cousins to see the movie, and scramble to find a way to entertain the 8 little boys who were determined to destroy my home.

Needless to say, the party was a success.  Cannon had a great time, and we all survived yet another Lego birthday.

Happy Birthday to my amazing 8 year old. You have the sweetest heart. You are sensitive and kind, and I am truly blessed to call you my son. I love you Tank!
