Summer at the Pool

I could literally just be here all the time.
Grateful for the chance to spend the summer here.

Ice cream, sno-cones and the pool all to ourselves.  Perfect afternoon.

Laps at the pool: a humbling experience because its been awhile....like a looooooong while.

Pipe Cleaners

Somehow Pipe Cleaner "art" projects turned into Pipe Cleaner "costume" projects today. 

Bay Area Business

Rich took on a once-a-month teaching positition at Hilltop Church.  Its a little bit of a commute, but the church is so sweet and supportive, and he is enjoying the opportunity to practice growth in this area.

 These guys make me so smiley.  Grateful they are excited to be hanging out with us in Richmond today.

 After the service and a yummy legit chinese food lunch, we went to IKEA where the hooligans run amuck.

 And then for our last stop for our East Bay Day.  Orientation for Rich's new schooling adventure.

Getting prayed for and commissioned as the school starts the new year.

Field trip

Sub Zero field trip today.  We learned lots of "science-y" stuff like the ideal gas law, the Leidenfrost effect, and all about liquid nitrogen.  But more importantly, we go to eat ice cream.

And we shared my FAVORITE kind of lunch afterwards.  Fresh bread, brie cheese and hummus.  Yummy!

First Day of School 2016

Last night the kids caught and collected 5 frogs to take to school this morning for the first day.  Guess how many escaped out of the container and into the garage last night......

Nolan and Tabitha Schemes

Its all fun and games until the dog figures out that she is wearing socks.

Church Dress

I had to laugh when I realized what Nolan was wearing to church today.  The shirt, with the "kind of short" shorts, and the socks and crocs.  Added to that is the hair...that I *obviously* didn't brush.

Books and Snuggles

Days don't often end like this, but when they do, its my favorite....

Creepy

I was told that there was something really scary in the fridge.  I'm not exactly sure if they mean the creepy guy with the chewed off hair, or the fact that there's no food.

Dressing Up

She has been asking to wear this dress everyday since it was given to us.  So our outing to Target *obviously* calls for the silver sequined dress with rhinestone belt and gold sandals. 
Obviously.

It's her morning thing now. Tea with honey to go with my coffee and cream.

She was a good sport on our first "real" day. I'm extremely thankful for her grace towards me as I fumbled through *most* of it.

Never Ending Wish

Swimsuits drying on the deck. Doors open to the lake breeze.  I don't want summer to end. 

Another Lake Trip

Another quick trip to the lake.  Just Brooke, her kids and us.
Another wonderful couple of nights away to relax and swim and enjoy the time in the water.

These were waiting for me when I got home. I think we were missed. 
Sidenote: these flowers will forever remind me of my grandma's garden.
